Welcome to SMPPR!

Our mission is to further the best interests of the practice of Podiatric Medicine in Puerto Rico and that of our members. To define Podiatric Medicine as the branch of Medicine that diagnoses, treats and studies the conditions that affect the human foot and the related structures that govern it, including the appropriate treatments of the manifestations of systemic conditions. To promote camaraderie, comprehension and cooperation amongst our fellow podiatrists who are practicing in Puerto Rico. To provide through a united effort of our members an appropriate and effective public service. To carry out studies and investigations in the field of Podiatric Medicine. To award certificates that accredit the bearer of these as a member of our Society. To create informational services with the purpose of educating the community in all matters related to Podiatric Medicine and the services that our profession offers. As a non-profit corporation established under the laws of the "Estado Libre Asociado" (Commonwealth) of Puerto Rico, the Society is under the legal obligation to render a financial statement and/or annual tax forms to the "Secretario de Hacienda" (Secretary of the Treasury)
